We had a truly horrible experience at Skin Retreat. I purchased a three-month treatment package for Christmas for my beautiful wife, to treat light acne scarring on her face, something she has struggled with and felt insecure about since her youth. Each treatment combined subcision, PRP, and C02 laser. The clinic manager ASSURED us that these treatments would eliminate my wife's scarring, because the scarring was not deep or severe. However, the treatments actually worsened her skin, and very drastically. They caused new scarring on her face, a large lesion on one cheek, and hyper-pigmentation. Sadly, these new scars and pockmarks may never heal.
We sought out other medical opinions and learned that the treatments received were not ideal for my wife’s type of scarring. We were also informed that doing these all at the same time would be too much for a person; There would be a high likelihood of overwhelming and damaging the skin barrier, especially without proper and regular aftercare (something sorely lacking from the Skin Retreat clinic). We also learned that the “doctor” performing the treatments may not in fact be an actual, qualified medical doctor. Because of this, my wife stopped her treatment. She only completed 50% of her package, to prevent further damage and scarring to her skin.
This whole experience was completely devastating for my love, who already had lingering insecurity about her existing acne marks. The new scars, lesion, and hyper-pigmentation on her face caused her an awful lot of mental and emotional suffering, to the point where she was regularly in tears and no longer wanted to go out in public. I would really recommend you avoid this place for any type of invasive treatment. This clinic has the potential to ruin your life.
